Broken Arm for Spring Break

Gracie and Olivia are growing tall as weeds. Gracie broke her arm during her spring break playing behind the church a few weeks ago and now she has her blazing orange cast for everyone to see and sign. Spring has been welcomed in our house, out playing til late and gettin dirty in the fresh cut grass!

Sleepover!!!!!!

Gracie had 9-count them 9 girls over for her 7th birthday to sleepover, complete with cake and a pillow fight!!! What a time they had!

Soccer

We love Soccer! It is soooo fun! Gracie love it. Her coaches love her and her aggressiveness. She plays goalie. It has turned into a family event for us, We all go to practice together and we got to games together. We love soccer!

Tryin' on Tennis

Thursday Gracie tried tennis out and she is sold! She loves it! Clara and Gracie had their first lesson together and Lydia joined in. Jenny is such a great teacher-and patient with the kids! Thanks Jenny:)

A Walk on a BEATUTIFUL day

In my ongoing project of losing weight, Olivia and I decided to take a walk to the post office. I would say it is probably about half a mile one way. We are now a one car family, so Ralph took the van to work today. I had things that were time sensitive, so Olivia and I set out, her riding her Barbie bike and we wearing my Adidas. It is a GORGEOUS day here. Not even a cloud in the sky. Olivia had a blast riding her bike on the sidewalk, which is something she hasn't done often so it was a challenge for her, she worked he little calves! She rode up and down bumps and inclines I couldn't ride a bike up. Today is going to be a good day. Exercise and sunshine makes me feel good!

Awards Assembly

Gracie received 2 awards at her schools' awards assembly on Thursday. She was the proud recipient of the citizenship award (the white one) which means that she did not have any "needs improvement" in the behavior portion of her report card. She is "ahem, and I quote "a lovely child who is a leader to other students and always willing to help out". The orange ribbon is for all "S". Gracie has got all S's for all the 9 weeks! Geez, when did she grow up, and how did she get so dang samrt, I mean, smart?

BTW,Check out my new bumper sticker, that Gracie put on the van by herself, in the middle of the rear window, yes siree, right in the MIDDLE:)

Let us not forget what these next 3 days mean

In the midst of colored eggs, Easter grass and chocolate bunnies, let us not forget to teach our children what Good Friday and Easter morning means. I am so thankful for the sacrifice my Savior has made for me. To give his life so we may live is the ultimate sacrifice. I hope I can show my appreciation for Him by being more Christlike. 40 teeth and 1 cavity

Gracie and Olivia went to the dentist today. Gracie zero cavities and such a big girl! Olivia has one itty bitty cavity and she sat on mommy's lap. They both did great. They were rewarded with small gifts for being such big girls! New House Rule: 1 coke on Saturday only....Ralph will be disappointed, he has turned our children into Coke A Cola addicts!

Hello Spring, Good Bye Spring Break???

Spring Break officially ended for us at 830 this evening. We had a good week, Gracie had friends over most of the week, Ralph even had a friend or two over;) It's back to school for Gracie. That means back to bedtimes and whining about being thirsty or hungry before sleep falls on her. Gracie loves school, so she finds this news wonderful, as do we. Finally, we are back to normal, time to ourselves in the evenings. Ahhhhh, i love spring. Playing outside, riding bikes, walks, runny noses and eyes, allergies and fresh air. Freckles on faces and dirty feet. Ring around the bathtub is back. Hello spring!

Much Needed Inspiration

So, I was bored today, avoiding the pile of homework and housework that I need to do, not to mention the shower I need to take for a doctor's appointment at 4, and I was reading Kristen's blog about her weight loss journey. I check her blog often, she is such an inspiration and doesn't even know it! Anywho, she had a button on her blog about NieNie. I have seen it everytime I check out her blog, but choose to ignore it, but not today. What an inspiration!
Sometimes I think that our Heavenly Father puts people and things in our path so that we may be humbled by them. This was a big fat piece of humble pie. Check it out! This woman puts our lives in perspective.

It's Time For An Update

So.......so much has happened in the last 6 months I would be blogging all day if I had to tell you everything. Here are some things that have been going on in the Holbrook's lives!

• We got a new dog, Courtney
• Had the Swine flu
• Great holidays
• Got a new RED couch, I love it!!!

• Gracie is a Girl Scout
• Went to our first parade together

On the Mend

So, we are all feeling better, and out of all of this, we did get some good news, I was fully admitted to Marshall University's Graduate School's Counseling Program. So, I am really gonna be a counselor, so watch out- I might find out how crazy you all are~~~:)

Feelin' Yucky "Round Here"

So, Ralph, Olivia and Gracie are all feeling pretty bad. Ralph was struck with the belly bug, Gracie has a cough that won't quit, and Olivia is struggling with a fever that is relentless. As for my self, I am about to lose my mind with everyone sick!!! I think we are on the mend, however. Seems as if it is going around. "Tis the Season.
